Rossens, Switzerland-Magtrol SA, Switzerland, specializing in force measurement, presents a new range of force sensors designed to measure and control the clamping force in cable cars and ski lifts.
Based on strain gauges technology, the SK-01 sensor is designed to measure the clamping force, independent of the clamp, on the longitudinal axis of the transducer. It is easy to install, and suitable for outdoor use (stainless steel construction). Accessories available for the SK-01 include a digital amplifier and display.
This sensor is available in two different ranges, one for ropes with a diameter of 20 to 38 mm, and forces up to 300 kN; the other for ropes with a diameter of 40 to 60 mm, and forces up to 400 kN. The adaptation to the specific rope diameter is made by shells surrounding the sensor body. Magtrol also offers custom designs in both dimension and force.
